ATC Homestyle Red Chili

List of Ingredients:

  • 1 Package All Things Chili Homestyle Red Powder

  • 2 1/2 lbs cut meat, or 1/2 lb cut meat and 1/2 lb ground meat (any mix or type of meat is good).  

    • Keep cut and ground meat separate due to different cooking times

  • 14.5 oz can of chicken broth

  • 14.5 oz can of beef broth

  • 2 tsp bouillon base (optional will give chili a bolder flavor)

  • 3  15 oz cans of beans any type of bean preferred (drain liquid and rinse with water before adding to pot)

  • 3 cups of seeded and diced peppers:

    • 1 cup diced jalapeno

    • 2 cups diced Anaheim peppers

  • 2  14 1/2 oz cans petite diced tomatoes or diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup diced onion

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to saute meat and vegetables

  • 1/8 tsp brown sugar (optional to cut down on heat if too spicy)

  • 5-6 qt

Directions:

  • In a 5-6 quart stock pot add the beef and chicken broth with 2 tsp beef bouillon, simmer on low

  • In a separate saute pan add 1 tsp of oil and brown meat seasoning with 1/2 tsp of slat

    • (If using combination of meats, brown and keep cut and ground meat separate.)  When meat is browned drain and discard liquid.  If using cut meat add to pot.  Set any ground meat aside to be added later.

  • Saute onion in 1 tsp of oil and set aside.

  • Saute fresh peppers in 1 tsp of oil and set aside.

  • 45 minutes into cooking add 4 tbsp ATC Homestyle Red Powder to pot and simmer

  • At 1 1/2 hrs into cooking add:

    • 2 cans diced tomatoes 

    • 4 tbs ATC Homestyle Red Powder, sauteed peppers, and sauteed onion

  • 2 hrs into cooking add browned ground meat if using, and 4 tbsp ATC Homestyle Red 

  • Cook 30 additional minutes then add salt, additional ATC powder to taste and 1/8 tsp brown sugar (optional) to taste.
